Niger further sank Uganda’s hope of qualifying for the 2023 Afcon with a 1-all draw at the St Mary’s stadium Kitende in Kampala.

Amadou Sabo’s goal in the second half tamed the buzzing cranes fans in the stands and secured a point for his side moments after Allan kyambade had replaced Farouk Miya for the cranes.
The goal seemingly rubbed Uganda’s coach Micho in all the wrong spots prompting him into a double substitution that saw Allan Okello and Muhammad Shaban on for Milton Kariisa and Fahad Bayo respectively.
Last 10 minutes of the game were intense as both sides sought for a winner to bag maximum points but in vain.
Despite the point, Uganda remain at the bottom and Niger brighten their chances of advancing to the next round as they are second on the log of group F with two points now.
A positive result for Tanzania against Algeria today will affect the table standings.
