Born in Kenya to South Sudanese parents, Akio debuted for South Sudan at the international level in January 2022, and he has earned four caps for the senior national team.
Akio couldn’t help his excitement after he signed a three-year deal with Scottish Premiership side Ross County on Sunday.
The Stuggies confirmed him as their 10th summer signing at an undisclosed fee from Canadian side Valour FC.
“I can’t wait to see you guys this brand new season. Up the county.” He said.
In 43 appearances for his former club, Akio scored 10 goals and five assists.
As a teenager, he played in the Calgary Foothills of USL League Two as well as at the NCAA Division I level with the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley before signing his first professional contract with Valour FC in May 2021.
The backflips maestro now joins his 21 year old brother Victor Loturi with whom Ross County unlocked their summer signings on a three year deal.

“William is a player we have been tracking for a number of months and we are delighted to bring him to Dingwall. He has performed consistently and regularly at Valour FC and although he is still learning, he is an exciting addition to our group.” Malky said in a club statement.
Ross County, uncomfortable in a trophy hunger last won the League cup in 2015/16 and the Winners & Ladbrokes championship in 2018/19. They finished sixth in the Premiership table last season under manager Malky Mackay and have signed ten players including contract extensions in preparation for their 2022-23 league campaign beginning July 30th.
Among the other signings is 25 year old right back Callum Johnson on a two year deal and Swansea midfielder Yan Dhanda.
Tomorrow, Ross County will play their third game in the group stage of the Scottish League Cup against Alloa Athletic with whom they tie at 5 points in group C though it’s not yet confirmed if Akio will debut.
The bright stars, South Sudan’s National team are currently in Dar es salaam to prepare for the Africa Nations Championship qualifiers (CHAN 2023). They will play Ethiopia on the 22nd July and a return match on the 28th July.
